Who hide their eyes

Gleaming in the marches bordering hell:
A single highway keeping us from Plato’s city.

Here, no one wants to admit that we first fall
For the skinny men,
The men with baby bellies,
Who’ve yet to find out what it means
To bald.
The men
Who are soft like us.

No one is walking in the street here.
You can sleep endlessly
Without guilt.
You can drink coffee outside the homes
Of the femme ghosts:
Plumped,
Who hide their eyes,
Ignoring the presence of this world.

Zij die hun ogen verbergen

Op te groeien in een land grenzend aan de hel
er is maar een snelweg die ons scheidt van de ideale stad.

Hier is niemand die wil toegeven dat we eerst houden van
de magere mannen
de mannen met lage buiken
de mannen die nog steeds de betekenis van hoofdhaar niet hebben ontdekt
zachte mannen zoals wij.

Hier loopt niemand op straat
je kunt eindeloos slapen
zonder je schuldig te voelen
je kunt koffie drinken voor de huizen
van vrouwelijke geesten
rond
zij die hun ogen verbergen
zij die onverschillig zijn voor het bestaan van de wereld.

أن تشبو في الأرض المجاورة لحدود الجحيم
طريق سريعة واحدة تفصلنا عن المدينة الفاضلة.

هنا لا أحد يريد الاعتراف بأننا نحب أولاً
الرجال النحيفين
الرجال الذين لهم كروش خافتة
الرجال الذين لم يكتشفوا معاني شعر الرأس بعد
الرجال الناعمين مثلنا.

هنا لا يسير أحد في الشارع
بإمكانك أن تنام إلى مالا نهاية
دون أن تشعر بالذنب
وأن تشرب القهوة أمام بيوت
لإناث الأشباح
المدورات
خافيات العيون
المتجاهلات لوجود هذا العالم.
