WHEN YOU DISCOVER THOSE LONG CUTS

When you discover those long cuts,
sheets of paper or blade of grass,
you barely touch
and it’s full blood:
your words
straight to the dead zones
the shaded areas
thin and silent as needles,

I find myself covered
and didn’t know.

WHEN YOU DISCOVER THOSE LONG CUTS

Quando scopri quei tagli lunghi,
fogli di carta o fili d’erba
che basta un solo tocco
ed è già sangue:
le tue parole
dritte ai punti morti
al luoghi in ombra
sottili e silenziose come aghi,

mi trovo ricoperta
e non sapevo.
