Biography
Santiago Barcaza, born in Santiago, 1974, is a poet and musician. He is the recipient of scholarships from the Neruda Foundation in 1996, and from the National Library in 1998. His poetic and musical works have won several awards. Among them are the prizes Eusebio Lillo (1996), Pablo Neruda de Valdivia (1997) and Literarte, a poetry and photography prize created by Artespacio Gallery (2004).
In 2003 Barcaza launched the album Never watched ports (Universidad de Chile), where he played music based on the work of Neo-Hellenistic Greek poets along with the songwriter Patricio Anabalón.

Founder of the band Los Muebles, in 1996, whose songs make up the soundtrack of four Chilean films, Barcaza now is part of Casagrande, a group of artists who share and helped support his poetic interventions in public spaces, such as the ‘Bombing of Poems’ in different cities worldwide.
