HYBRID

I read Dante I undressed a man white
Obedient I lay down I worked out my debt
My loss deep, my consolation great, my sin sweet
Look how I turned to bramble and thicket

I asked about birds I dived into the wood white
I stripped myself and left that instant
How beautiful to stand between your shoulder and evening
I looked long at mallows in the distance

I read Dante I kissed a soldier white
Like a whole town asleep, paused,
I was the echo of a stone you threw I came back
The world sometimes, sometimes the world is just blood

I sat then I found a mouth in which I could be silent
We were entangled abandoned and white
My book, my sacred text, my hybrid child
Because of you I stink

I read Dante I shot down a state black

BASTAARD

Mijn verlies was fors, mijn troost groot, mijn zonde zoet

Mijn boek, mijn heilige tekst, mijn bastaardkind

MELEZ

Dante okudum bir erkeği soydum beyaz
Usul uslu uzandım borçlarımı saydım
Yitiğim çok, avuntum bol, günahım güzel
Bakın işte çalı çırpı kaldım

Kuşları sordum ormana daldım beyaz
Üstümü başımı alıp çıkardım
Ne de güzel durdum omzunla akşam arasında
Uzun uzak hatmilere baktım

Dante okudum bir askeri öptüm beyaz
Bütün kasaba uykuda gibi bir zaman
Attığın taşın yankısıydım geri döndüm
Dünya bazen, bazen dünya sadece kan

Oturdum sonra susacak bir ağız buldum
Karışmıştık kimsesiz ve beyaz
Kitabım, kutsalım, melez çocuğum
Ben sendendir kötü koktum

Dante okudum bir devleti vurdum siyah
