Not a slow draining
Not a slow draining of strengthbut a painful metamorphosis
had taken hold of the plant,
a swift discoloration of its lymph
which then disappeared.

Geen langzame vermindering van krachtenmaar een pijnlijke metamorfose
had de plant in haar greep,
