Ever since I was a child I have admired their boldness
travelling hanging from the edge of the doors
of the buses
grasping the handle with a hand of air

Aerialists of the road
masked by the wind

Globetrotters who fly on the edge
of the precipices

Ubus-Ubus: birds with a single wing
Apollinaire would call them

Desde niño admiré su osadía de viajar
colgados del borde de las puertas
de los buses
asidos a una manija por una mano de aire

Equilibristas de la carretera
a quienes el viento les ceñía una máscara

Trotamundos que sortean el filo
de los precipicios

Ubus-Ubus: pájaros de una sola ala
los llamaría Apollinaire
