Juan Heinsohn Huala

Juan Heinsohn Huala (1958, Chile) is a poet, visual artist, and cultural events organizer. In 1978, he fled to Argentina with his parents; a year later, the family was invited to the Netherlands as political refugees. From 1980 to 1988, he served as editor-in-chief of the Spanish-language literary magazine América Joven. Until 1992, he coordinated the Salvador Allende Center in Rotterdam, a Latin American center for culture and solidarity. From 1992 to 2010, he was responsible for literary programming at the Poetry Park Festival (later Festival Dunya). His poetry has been published in Spanish, Dutch, Arabic, English, Turkish, and Albanian.
