Biography
Selahattin Yolgiden, one of the most intriguing poets in the new millennium, has a sincere voice; he combines a journey towards the inner self with symbolic elements. His rhythmic poems, which make use of alliteration and half-rhyme, are especially strong in their flowing sound. Witty aphorisms about love, eroticism, loneliness and death are expressed in a quite lyrical voice. His poetry may be considered an accomplished example of Turkish poetry's complex yet emotional vein.
Yolgiden was born in İstanbul. His poems have been translated into English, German, Italian, Dutch, Croatian, Indian and Bulgarian. He is a member of editorial board of the Çevrimdışı İstanbul literature magazine and the Çevrimdışı İstanbul International Poetry Festival.
