Biography
Pooyan Farmanbar's poetry is very much of today, shunning the didactic and presenting what has been called the cinema of the text. For instance, in the poem "Lose", instead of addressing the reader directly he takes on the gaze of a masochistic Jesus, or in the poem "Deceit", he takes on the persona of someone who wants to deceive himself.
Pooyan Farmanbar was born in the city of  Rasht in northern Iran. He is studying humanities at college. He joined Persian Poetry College from its inception, and has been active there in multiple capacities, including the editorial committee of Poetry File magazine, and working on the College radio. He is the manager of the College Website and also collaborates with its poetry workshop.
