AYINGS WHICH MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE BEEN WRITTEN BY DON SANCHO JIMENO HIMSELF, BY DON FRANCISCO DE MIRANDA OR BY DON ANTONIO NARIÑO, IN THE CASTLE OF BOCACHICA WHERE THE THREE, FOR THE SAME REASONS, IF YOU TAKE INTENT INTO ACCOUNT, WERE IMPRISONED. MAY THE L

Endless albatross, sinister seraph:
the iguana sits astride the wind.
Thick-necked iguana, the sea is yours,
the breeze is yours,
caramel and jade are also yours,
yours is death perfuming the sea.
Buddha iguana, most patient lady:
sea leagues pave your face:
the night is yours, breast ablaze,
dead cockroach,
celebrated ant.
Today I laugh at you, the owl laughs,
the turtle irons the taste of dreams.
Iguana, iguana, your crusty skin,
the beak of the sparrow hawk laughs.
Iguana, iguana, I grab your tail
and hang you from the ceiling
and the greenish bile inside you,
thick-necked iguana,
will soon fall, slimy, onto the floor.
Iguana, iguana, I shall spit in your face,
golden Buddha of serene splendor.

Your mansion, iguana, your mansion now,
Scaly and alone will remain asleep.
Oh fleshless swordsman:
you lie rotten on the high beam .
Oh endless albatross, sinister seraph:
I have told you the story
Of the iguana and its torment.

Come, come, albatross, give me your flight,
Come, come albatross, I want another tale.

Iguana, iguana, tu costruda piel,
se ríe el pico del gavilán pollero.
Iguana, iguana, cojo tu cola
y te cuelgo al techo
y tu bilis verdecita adentro,
cogotuda iguana,
caerá muy pronto en babaza al suelo.
Iguana, iguana, escupiré tu rostro,
Buda dorada de resplandor sereno.

Tu mansión iguana, tu mansión ahora,
escamosa y sola quedará dormida.
Oh espadachín sin carne:
sobre el alto horcón yaces podrida.
Oh albatros sin fin serafín siniestro:
te he contado a ti la historia
de la iguana y su tormento.

Albatros ve, ven, dame tu vuelo,
albatros, ven, ven, quiero otro cuento.
