FRUITS OF LIGHT

The hemispheres of your chest
rest on my hands far off on a distant sea

So heavy these fruits made of light!
A thorn, you pierce the lining
of my insides     slip within

Distance makes you
        overflow inside me
Absence makes you
        come to live in my heart

Deep at night you became
eighty four thousand stars
pierced my dreams     passed through me

And I watched through the cracked glass
as the eighty four thousand stars
shot through you, scattered, and flew in bits across the sky

光のくだもの

きみの胸の半球が とほい とほい
海のうへでぼくの手に載ってゐる

おもい おもい 光でできたくだものよ
臓腑の壁を茨のとげのきみが刺し きみが這ふ

遠さがきみを ぼくのなかに溢れさせる
不在がきみを ぼくの臓腑に住みつかせる

夜半に八万四千の星となつて 夢をつんざき
きみがぼくを通過したとき

ひび割れたガラス越しにぼくは見てゐた 星の八万四千が
きみをつらぬき 微塵に空へ飛び散らすのを
