Game

Wipe your nose
Wash your face     let’s go for a game up the leafy alleys

September was on the calendar
p.m. shadows shifting        short to long
Don’t catch me off guard
or pull a naked shoulder from the shadow of your hair
You, born in the year of the mouse,
make no Leo of me, I’m just a boy

Days fade to dusk then to night then to morning
So now half of me tigers around Brussels
while the other half out-tongues you

GAME
