21. A foggy winter

A foggy winter. People walk through without noise, dragged by enormous wheels of fire. Blackbirds are hopping in the snow ridden with cigarette stubs. One day I’ll wind up being as unconcerned as they are. That’s perhaps all there is to the Annunciation.

21. A foggy winter

Een mistige winter, waarin mensen geluidloos voorbijtrekken, voortgesleept door enorme vuurwielen. Merels huppelen in de met peukjes bezaaide sneeuw. Op een dag zal ik even onverschillig zijn als zij. Misschien is dat de enige goede boodschap.

Iarnă ceţoasă prin care oamenii trec fără zgomot, tîrîţi de roţi enorme de foc. Mierlele ţopăie în zăpada acoperită de mucuri. Voi deveni cîndva nepăsătoare ca şi ele. Aceasta e poate singura bunăvestire.
