Song of the Mirror Maker

I make mirrors:
To horror I add more horror.
To beauty more beauty.
I take the moon of  quicksilver by the street:
The sky reflects in the mirror
And the roofs dance
Like a painting from Chagall.
Whenever the mirror enters into other house
It will efface the known faces,
Since the mirrors don’t talk about their past,
They don’t delate old residents.
Some people construct jails,
Bars for cages
I make mirrors:
To horror I add more horror,
To beauty more beauty.

Canción del que fabrica los espejos

Canción del que fabrica los espejos

Fabrico espejos:
Al horror agrego más horror.
Más belleza a la belleza.
Llevo por la calle la luna de azogue:
El cielo se refleja en el espejo
Y los tejados bailan
Como un cuadro de Chagall.
Cuando el espejo entre en otra casa
Borrará los rostros conocidos,
Pues los espejos no narran su pasado,
No delatan antiguos moradores.
Algunos construyen cárceles,
Barrotes para jaulas.
Yo fabrico espejos:
Al horror agrego más horror,
Más belleza a la belleza.
