Awater Live: Ik vond vele reisgenoten

20 years of labor of love: Poetry Magazine Awater is celebrating its birthday!

During this edition of Awater Live, editor-in-chief Myrte Leffring and editor Thomas Möhlmann will festively present the latest issue of Poetry Magazine Awater. This magazine was founded in 2002 by Gerrit Komrij, the first Poet Laureate of the Netherlands, to make poetry accessible to a wide audience. In honor of its 20th anniversary, Myrte Leffring compiled an anthology entitled I found many travel companions. Included are twenty new poems by poets who have contributed to the magazine over the past two decades. The poems are written around the theme 'I seek a traveling companion', the motto of the poem 'Awater' by Martinus Nijhoff. This anniversary anthology will also be presented this afternoon, with readings by Pieter Boskma, Daan Doesborgh, Eva Gerlach, Sasja Janssen, K. Michel and Hélène Gelèns.

The anthology and the June edition of Awater will be for sale during the festival.
