Showcase: Spraakuhloos Onbeperkt
How do you find yourself in a world full of noise? What does it mean to be seen when your limitations are often invisible? During this special final presentation of Spraakuhloos Onbeperkt, the participants will share the work they have developed over the past months under the guidance of spoken word artist Chery Salinas. Through a series of personal and powerful performances, they explore the relationship between body, identity, and society. Spoken word here serves not only as an art form but as a tool for reflection, connection, and (mental) health.
This showcase is part of the main program on June 15, which focuses on sign language. We will also invite two deaf performers to the mic, adding an extra layer to this multifaceted event, where language takes on many forms. An afternoon full of fresh perspectives, honest stories, and poetic space for what is often hidden.

Chery Salinas
Chery Salinas is a spoken word artist from Rotterdam with Chilean roots, known for her powerful performances that blend personal experiences with social themes. Since joining the platform Spraakuhloos in 2014, she has become a prominent voice in the Rotterdam spoken word scene. As the founder of ‘Spraakuhloos Onbeperkt,’ she organizes workshops for people with visible and invisible disabilities, using spoken word as a tool for expression and empowerment. Chery lives with fibromyalgia, a chronic condition that deeply influences her work. Her texts explore topics like health, cultural identity, and female self-awareness, often with a dreamy and introspective tone. In 2020, she was named a ‘Game Changer’ during the Rotterdam Street Culture Week. She is currently working on her debut poetry collection.
