THE GROWING EDGE

DE GROEIENDE RAND

Er is een scherpe punt
in de lucht
een verre gons
dat noem je gezang
en hoeveel nachten
dit megagroot, gestriemd
gestemd, ik vraag me af
of je me hoort
ik bedoel ik praat
via jou in mezelf
kat de lucht af
jij bent daar ergens
vannacht en ik ook
al zolang als
ik weet
praat ik met de lucht
wat is dat
hard zijn
maakt ’t uit
bedoel je
hoe ver kan ik
ernaast zitten, hoe
kon het me ontgaan
want dat doet het helemaal
oké dan
ik weet niks
van de wereld
zie hem nu
kan echt zien
dat er een scherpe punt
een verre gons
naar de lege
klokslag herfst rommel
het is grimmig, gratuit
het asfaltkarakter
deze gevoelens
het is zondag in de ruimte
en in het briesje
strooisels, wezens die je voelt
achter het gat
in de dag, vonken
grimmig puntig
hier ben ik niet
eerder geweest, mijn stem
zoekt naar een deur
dit zeeverschietlicht
dat in de muil reikt
wat wil het zeggen
die kamer ingaan
de laatste keer
wist ik er nog van
een on samenkomst
elk stukje
open hemel erin
de diepe kilte
die verzint, en
is het troost
de kou die terugkeert
helder nu en
kristallijn de kou
en ik sta
voeten op de grond
ik bevroren en
ik voel dat
om de dood
van dienst te treffen
wij een lichaam
in ons dragen
bevroren grond
wat wil het zeggen
hard zijn
of een gedicht schrijven
ik bedoel heel die
kolk van thuis
die instort binnen
een diepzeegehuil
flits bliksem
geboortestormen
bleekheidsweer
leven verblindend

THE GROWING EDGE

There is a spike
in the air
a distant thrum
you call singing
and how many nights
this giganto, torn
tuned, I wonder if
you hear me
I mean I talk
to myself through you
hectoring air
you’re out there
tonight and so am I
for as long as
I remember
I talk to the air
what is it
to be tough
what ever
do you mean
how mistaken
can I be, how
did I miss it
as I do entirely
and admit very
well then
I know nothing
of the world
can see it now
can really see
there is a spike
a distant thrum
to the empty
o’clock autumn litter
it’s ominous, gratuitous
the asphalt quality
these feelings
it’s Sunday in deep space
and in the breeze
scatters, felt presences
behind the hole
in the day, sparks
ominous spike
I’ve not been here
before, my voice is
looking for a door
this offing light
reaching into maw
what does it mean
to enter that room
the last time
I remembered it
an un gathering
every piece of
open sky into it
the deep chill
inventing, and
is it comfort
the cold returning
now clear and
crystalline cold
I standing
feet on the ground
I frozen and
I can feel it
to meet incumbent
death we carry
within us a body
frozen ground
what does it mean
to be tough
or to write a poem
I mean the whole
vortex of home
buckling inside
a deep sea whine
flash lightning
birth storms
weather of pale
blinding life
