Words

Gradually they waned and went still.
Where did those frenetic words come from?
The fair of words spreads like light
breaking the fearful silence

It has happened before
and will maybe happen again.
Knowing all this, the words would mob me still.
And I grope for them
I try earnestly to touch their contours
as I look for their sizes colours varieties

Here, merging steadily into the womb of my ears
as the clamour of words around me gradually dies down
I frantically tag along the line of the floating words
These twenty odd years I’ve been swimming
in the musical notes of words
One day as age weighs me down
I’ll be under words

The silent land forever.
