Ivan Štrpka

Flatland, southwest. Stone

Flatland, southwest. Stone

Something you feel, but
cannot read, not
even in deepest dusk.

Long name for
a short death.

Unhewn stone, that
you cannot lift.
Cannot shift
across the boundary of the moment
into your own silence.

Vlakland, zuidwest. Steen

Vlakland, zuidwest. Steen

Iets dat je voelt, maar
niet kunt aflezen, zelfs
niet in de diepste schemer.

Lange naam voor
een korte dood.

Ongehouwen steen, die
je niet kunt tillen.
Niet kunt verzetten
door de grens van het moment
in je eigen zwijgen.
