Christopher Ricks has been appointed Professor of Poetry at Oxford University, the most coveted poetry post in the UK after poet laureate. Literary critic Professor Ricks was the only non-poet in the shortlist and is known as much for his love of Bob Dylan’s lyrics as for Milton’s epics, reports The Guardian.
