Chinese Poets Stage First Naked Happening

January 18, 2006 The happening was held as part of the "Taihang Mountains Exploratory Poetry Tour", writes Poetry Life, in Yixian county in Hebei province. It took place atop Tianmen Mountain in Tianmen Cave and lasted for 26 minutes. The happening involved unspecified forms of "random behaviour including naming". A total of seven poets took part, including three members of an experimental absurdist poetry group, a rock music critic, and Wa Lan, described in the report as a "practitioner of post lyric poetry". Discussions which took place during the "Taihang Mountains Exploratory Poetry Tour" focused, not surprisingly, on absurdist poetry, rock'n'roll and the avant-garde, as well as postmodern thought and its development.
