Poets 2016

Between 7-11 June 2016, join us for the 47th Poetry International Festival Rotterdam, the Netherlands! We\'re proud to say we are one of the oldest and largest poetry festivals in the world, and this year we\'re thrilled to host 18 poets from Morocco, India, Canada, Chile, Sweden, Romania, Australia, Costa Rica, Germany, Belgium and more. On 7 June, we\'ll hold our festive opening program at the Rotterdamse Schouwburg (City Theater), and from the 8th onward, you will have the opportunity to encounter all the poets through various special performances, lectures and debates -- on translation; on poetry\'s crossovers into film, music and art, including comic strips; and on this year\'s festival theme, "Newspeak" -- at the Ro Theater and other locations on the Witte de Withstraat. And have high expectations for our collaborations with other Rotterdam organizations for this year\'s festival -- among them WORM, the Witte de With Art Center, the Kunsthal and the International Film Festival Rotterdam!
