RED VIRGIN

all those hardcore white girls I know
eventually wear their dad’s or granddad’s suits
it begins with that first pixie cut
and the radicalization of their
eating habits
the Hannah Arendt-
Plath-romance
those cute mixed babies
at the Sankara lookalike
the blog vlog and the Simone Weil quote
tattooed in Bookman old style
all sins are attempts to fill voids
and just like that self-forgiveness falls
in their rhythmless laps
like a new democracy’s
equity policy

RED VIRGIN

RED VIRGIN

al die hardcore wit meisies wat ek ken
dra eventually hulle pa of oupa se suits
dit begin by daai eerste pixie cut
en die radicalization van hulle
eating habits
die Hannah Arendt-
Plath romance
die cute mixed babies
by die Sankara lookalike
die blog vlog en die Simone Weil
quote tattooed in Bookman Old Style
all sins are attempts to fill voids
en net so val selfvergifnis in
hulle rhythmless laps
soos ’n nuwe democracy se
equity policy
