Local Voices

Talented poets from the Willem de Kooning Academy, the Pauluskerk, and the Poetry Café at Ommoord Library offer a glimpse into their work and world. These Local Voices are students, visitors, and emerging talents who bring a fresh perspective to the stage and are coached by the instructors of Poetry International. Raw, honest, personal and socially engaged. 

 

Daniela Montoya Jerez

Daniela Montoya Jerez is a Colombian spoken word artist and educator based in Rotterdam. She holds a Master’s degree in Literature, Culture & Society and teaches English and Spanish literature. Her poetic work—often in the form of poetic prose—explores themes such as identity and emotional complexity, drawing inspiration from her life between Colombia and the Netherlands. 

In addition to her performances, Daniela is active as a writing coach. She is affiliated with organizations such as Poetry International and the Rotterdam Public Library, where she leads workshops and poetry cafés for emerging poets...
