The ominous rain

A flower
mustn’t
tail
her own scent.
If I have to be absolutely honest, my yearning is to blame.
Lest the flower be wasted
I’ve left her alone, intact on her mother plant.
Now —
like desolate clouds
I am on edge.
Whenever I get the scent of rain
I am on tenterhooks.

The ominous rain
