Signs of Exclamation

Seeing a watermelon
was my introduction to the Grand

Handful, seaful or not at all –
I am only speculating when I say
how much I love you

Looking at a watermelon
I have no idea how deep its red fleshiness is
where the countless meditative eyes
that garnish its inside are

But you insisted the earth can only be like an orange, round
you wouldn’t accept
it could also be like a watermelon

Forget all I said about love and speculation

My speculations are failure of my language
I need some signs of exclamation:
carriers of ecstasy
polite translators of failures
