UK Arts Council defends cuts to the Poetry Book Society

The British Arts Council has defended its funding cut to the Poetry Book Society (PBS), the organisation behind the TS Eliot Prize for poetry, claiming its “reach and distribution was not as wide or effective as other applicants”.
The Arts Council will continue to invest in PIW’s UK partner, the Poetry Society.
