Borders

Mounting the toilet seat, we stand
On one foot each so that it takes us all.
We watch in the building next door, a small
Family: man, woman and child.
We imagine a life for them, names, a home of things
Plugged on TV.
 
We fight.
Which of us would be the one
If mother had only had one child?
Which one did father buy from the store?
 
We wish the death of siblings were an easy thing.

GRENZEN

We klimmen op de toiletpot
allemaal met één voet zodat we erop passen,
we kijken naar het kleine gezin in het aangrenzende gebouw:
een man, een vrouw en een kind.
We fantaseren over hun leven, hun namen en de spullen
uit televisiereclames in hun huis.
 
We maken ruzie,
wie van ons het verwende kind zou zijn als mijn moeder
één kind zou hebben gebaard.
Wie van ons mijn vader in de winkel kocht.
 
We wensen dat de dood van broers en zussen makkelijk was.

حدود

نصعد فوق كرسي الحمّام
كل منا بقدم واحدة حتى تسعنا المساحة،
نشاهد العائلة الصغيرة في المبنى المجاور:
رجلاً وامرأة وطفلاً.
نتخيل حياة لهم، أسماء، وأشياء في بيتهم
خرجت من دعايات التلفاز.
 
نتصارع،
من منا سيكون المدلل لو أن والدتي
كانت قد أنجبت طفلاً واحداً.
من منا اشتراه والدي من الدكان.
 
نتمنى لو أن موت الأخوة سهل.
