Rozalie Hirs

Rozalie Hirs

Rozalie Hirs (1965) is a poet, composer and sound artist. In her work she explores the boundaries between language, music and science. Since her debut Locus (1998) she has built up an impressive poetic oeuvre, with the most recent collections being oneindige zin (2021), ecologica (2023, awarded the Jan Campert Prize) and dagtekening van liefdesvormen (2024). Her music, often based on her own poems, combines traditional instruments with electronics and sound synthesis. With an interdisciplinary approach, Hirs creates a sensory world in which poetry and sound merge.
