Robin Block

Robin Block is a poet, musician and performer from Amsterdam. In his sensory performances he interweaves language, sound and movement. Much of his work focuses on the colonial history of the Netherlands and Indonesia, as well as contemporary Indonesian culture. His poetry collection Handbook for the Displaced was awarded several prizes in the Netherlands and Belgium and was published in translation in Indonesia. Poems from this collection are incorporated in the video project Manual for the Displaced, of which the pilot film Jangan Lupa won prizes at several international film festivals. As a musician, Block released several albums and toured both at home and abroad.
