Mahat Arab

Mahat Arab

Mahat Arab (1996) is a spoken word artist and literary programme maker whose work explores the boundaries between language, music, and image. His poetry balances between identity, discomfort, and the humour that lies within. He has performed at festivals such as Lowlands, De Nacht van de Poëzie and Brainwash and has been published in De Revisor and Het Parool. In 2021, he won the ILFU Story Competition and in 2023 the film adaptation of his poem was awarded as best Dutch poetry film.
