Macarena Urzúa Opazo

Macarena Urzúa Opazo (Santiago, 1978) was awarded a Pablo Neruda Foundation Fellowship in 2001. She published Jersey City (Editorial Fuga, 2009, funded by a Creation Grant from the Book and Reading Council), Escrito sobre el agua (Cástor y Pólux, 2018, finalist for the 2019 Santiago Municipal Literature Prize), and Manual (Naranja Publicaciones, 2023). She received grants from the Chilean National Book Fund in 2017, 2020, and 2022. She holds a PhD in Latin American Literature from Rutgers University and is currently an Associate Professor and Researcher at the Department of Literature and Linguistics at the University of Santiago, Chile (USACH).
