Lieke Marsman

Lieke Marsman

Lieke Marsman (1990) is a poet, columnist, philosopher and novelist, known for her sharp observations and committed voice. Her debut collection Wat ik mijzelf graag voorhoud (2010) was awarded the C. Buddingh' Prize and marked her as one of the most striking poets of her generation. Her work interweaves poetry with philosophical and political reflections, often with a subtle humor. De volgende scan duurt vijf minuten (2018) offers a penetrating account of her illness and the broader political context of care. From 2021 to 2022 she was Poet of the Netherlands. In 2025 her latest book Op een andere planeet kunnen ze me redden (On another planet they can save me) was published.
