José Tomás Labarthe

José Tomás Labarthe (1984) is an editor and writer. He has published the poetry books Ruido de fondo (LOM Ediciones, 2023) and Perro verbal (Pequeño Dios Editores, 2019). He co-authored two interview collections: La viga maestra: conversaciones con poetas chilenos 1973–1989 and Jaguar: conversaciones con narradores chilenos 1990–2019 (Ediciones UDP, 2019 and 2021). He translated Mark Lanegan’s poetry into Spanish, collected in the pamphlet Mil millas de medianoche (2024). He directs the publishing house of the Catholic University of Maule, edits the magazine Medio Rural, and lives in Curicó, Chile. He studied journalism, holds a master’s degree in the teaching of literature, and is a member of the bands Sonic Dealer, Station Wagon, and Los Detectives Salvajes.
