Jana Beranová

Jana Beranová is a poet, writer, and translator whose work is deeply rooted in social engagement and poetic expression. Born in Czechoslovakia, she fled to the Netherlands and grew into a prominent voice in Dutch literature. She translated works by Milan Kundera and received the Černín Medal from the Czech state for this. From 2009 to 2010, Beranová was the city poet of Rotterdam (2009-2010). Several of her works are displayed in public spaces in Rotterdam.
