Eva Gerlach

Eva Gerlach (1948) is one of the most acclaimed poets in the Netherlands, known for her clear and accurate poetry. Since her debut Verder geen leed (1979), she has built up an impressive oeuvre of more than twenty collections, in which she analyses human existence with precision and sensitivity. Her work has been awarded a number of prizes, including the P.C. Hooft Prize in 2000. In addition to her own poetry, she also translates the work of others.
