Cecilia Vicuña

Cecilia Vicuña is a visual artist, poet, filmmaker, and activist. She has published 25 books of art and poetry, with her work translated into seven languages. Vicuña won the prestigious Velázquez Prize for Visual Arts (2019). Her visual artworks are included in the collections of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, Tate Modern in London, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and other international institutions. In 2022, she was awarded the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the 59th Venice Biennale and became a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2023. That same year, she received the National Prize for Visual Arts from Chile.
