Benzokarim
Benzokarim is a poet, spoken word artist, and writer. His performances are musical, rhythmic, and captivating, with an activist undertone. In 2022, he won the El Hizjra Literature Prize and was part of the Slow Writing Lab of the Dutch Literature Fund. His debut collection El Ghorba (2022) weaves family history with grief and memory. He has performed at festivals such as Lowlands and Read My World and is a coach at Poetry Circle. In January 2025, he was appointed as the city poet of Rotterdam.
