That pastry and coffee house in Como
That pastry and coffee house in Comothe teenager actress, hope of our theater,
had often patronized,
was hard to recognize
among the new shops.
She used to go there with a girlfriend,
both of them fond of marrons glacés,
but the habit had broken up.

Het Grand Café in Como,favoriete plek van de piepjonge actrice,
destijds de hoop van ons theater,
was moeilijk te herkennen
tussen de nieuwe winkels.
Ze kwam daar vaak met een vriendin,
allebei verzot op marrons glacés,
maar er kwam een eind aan die gewoonte
