Workshops during the Festival
Want to learn how to write poetry through the lens of a photographer? Or have you always dreamed of compiling your own poetry book? Prior to and during the Poetry International Festival 2025, from June 12 to 15, this and much more will be offered during inspiring workshops at Verhalenhuis Belvédère.
Dive into the work of the recently passed poet Esther Jansma, together with poet and writer Peter Swanborn, or explore the magical connection between storytelling and poetry.

Would you like to write a poem but don't know how to do it? Or have you been writing for a while and are you ready for new inspiration and writing assignments? Together with Bibliotheek Ommoord, Poetry International organizes a monthly Poetry Café!
Under the guidance of experienced poet and teacher Daniela Jerez, you will learn all about poetry, how to write, where you get your inspiration from and most importantly: Daniela will give you inspiring writing assignments. If you feel like writing poetry in a relaxed atmosphere... then come along! No experience necessary!

Buddingh' Reading Club 2025
In honor of the C. Buddingh’ Prize, Poetry International hosts the Buddingh’ Reading Club each year—a series of four inspiring workshops where you’ll get to know the most promising debut poets of the year.
Each week, one nominated poet takes center stage—and joins the conversation! This is a unique opportunity to discuss their work, writing process, and the future of poetry. The sessions are online, in Dutch, and led by poet Ingmar Heytze.
This year's dates are: May 13th, May 21st, May 28th, and June 4th.
